A digital space translating Sylvie Ringer’s atmospheric practice into an immersive and editorial web experience — balancing stillness, materiality, and narrative.

The website was conceived less as a traditional portfolio and more as an extension of the artist’s spatial practice. Inspired by the tactile and atmospheric qualities of Sylvie Ringer’s work, the design focuses on restraint, rhythm, and presence rather than visual overload.

A muted palette, generous negative space, and delicate typography create a calm, gallery-like environment that allows the artworks to breathe. The soft olive interface elements subtly reference natural pigments and aged paper tones found throughout her paintings and artist books, while the blurred backgrounds evoke memory, landscape, and shifting states of consciousness — recurring themes within her practice.

The interface intentionally feels quiet and observational. Navigation remains minimal and almost secondary to the artworks themselves, encouraging slow exploration rather than fast consumption.

Special attention was given to image presentation, spacing, and typographic pacing to mirror the contemplative nature of Sylvie’s installations and publications. The result is a digital identity that feels atmospheric and immersive while remaining understated and highly accessible.
